Oh, the best laid plans....
Remember that time I said I was going to blog? That's right, *three* years ago. Well, despite my apparent and complete lack of follow through, I'm stepping up to the plate again. This time, though, I fear I have no choice but to truly commit, as I will now have several dozen students gleefully waiting to pounce if I don't stick to my word. You see, my co-teachers and I have decided to have our high school classes create a blog. There are actually many, very good reasons for this. (Here's one place to start.) Of course, there is also the inherent bonus in helping teenagers see that the internet doesn't just have to be an endless, putrid pit of mindless consumption and a miserable exploit into all of the excruciating ways people are unkind to each other. Rather, what if they - and all of us - took the two cents we wished to share with the world and thoughtfully did something worthwhile with them? Something that shares new ideas, safely opens doors for kind and logical conversations, and glorifies God all the while. This, of course, means that if I plan to put the old adage that "those who can't do, teach" to rest, then I need to jump in and roll up my sleeves with the rest of them. Students, you win. You just gave your teacher homework. Find more of this grand experiment at tarawritesstuff.weebly.com.
